50K, eight-hour race in the Blue Ridge mountains, Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. Named for the line in the John Denver song, Country Roads. First one-day ultra, completed with the help of retired marine ultra-runner “Butch”, who set the pace, and got me to eat the sandwiches.
